After The Silence: the film industry still deserves scrutiny - Shado Mag

editorial

Illustration for an article for Shado Magazine about reckoning and using our voice in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

Cat’s piece is focused on women finding their voices again in the wake of the Me Too movement, and speaking out. I portrayed women that resist, become stronger together, and find comfort in an adverse industry. The illustration works as a triptych where women stand as a unit, representing how this off-screen support impacts the safety of women in the film industry, and helps them uplift one another. I wanted the characters and the tone of the illustration to feel empathetic and hopeful, portrayed through soft pastel colours and sensitive facial expressions.
